Grace Tweed Kennedy, age 89, of Elkton, MD went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Caraway Manor. She was born December 18, 1925 in Newark, DE to the late Clinton and Sarah May (Grant) Tweed. Grace was a caring, fun-spirited, loving person who had a beautiful smile.
Music was in her heart and soul, as she always loved singing and dancing, especially tap dancing. An accomplished musician, she could play the guitar, harmonica, spoons and banjo. She enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash, Elvis, bluegrass and gospel. Grace loved to crochet, and made many wonderful gifts for family and friends. She also had an extensive doll collection which included porcelain limited editions. Grace will be especially missed by her many nieces and nephews who would indulge with the treats she loved; Herr’s potato chips, chocolate covered cherries, peppermint patties and ginger ale.
She is survived by her sister Beatrice Cook, of Elkton, MD; her brother Pastor John Gilbert Tweed Sr., of New Castle, DE; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and loved her dearly.
Service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921 Visitation one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Lewisville, PA. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com.
