She is survived by her son, Paul Banks of Elkton, MD; brother, Cecil Slemp, Jr. and wife Mary of Coeburn, VA; sisters, Wynona Slemp of Elkton, MD, Deb Gonderman and husband Ed of Pound, VA and Freedia Heaton and husband James of Felton, PA.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Albert Banks III, and brothers, Gregory Slemp and Jeffrey Slemp.

A funeral service will be held at 5PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may visit two hours prior beginning at 3PM. Burial will be held privately. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com.

Paul, I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. It breaks my heart to know that she has passed on. Myself along with my family truly loved her. She always had a way to turn my day around when I was having a bad day. Always up to challenge me and push me when needed be. There has been and always will be a place in my heart for her. Till we meet again, Rest in Peace Gletta.

So sorry to hear of ur loss Paul. I am here if need someone to talk to ur mom was a sweet women.

I taught Gleeta when she was a student at Forest Hill Elementary. I remember her as a lovely girl who was full of promise. It was a pleasure to have her in the class. I am saddened that her life was cut short. I am very sorry for the loss to her family.

I always enjoyed working with you. You were so loving with your residents. God bless you.
