Glenn Joseph Collins, age 56, of Chesapeake City, MD, died suddenly on Friday, December 9, 2011. Glenn was the son of the late Merritt Wesley Collins Sr. and Janet (Krastel) Collins.
Glenn served in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduation from Bohemia Manor H.S. in 1973. He was self employed and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his nephew, Michael Scott Collins of Chesapeake City, MD; uncles, Lee Collins and Lewis Collins, Jr. both of Chesapeake City, MD; aunt, Anna Marie Denver of Elkton, MD; step-mother, Jan Collins of Middletown, DE; step-brother, Brian Derby of Elkton, MD; and step-sisters, Linda Penland of Townsend, DE and Cindy Barber of Vancouver, WA. Glenn is also survived by many cousins and long-time friend Kim Mackie.
Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Merritt Collins, Jr., step-brother, Ken Derby; uncle, Harry Krastel and Kim’s daughter, Julia Mackie.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD, followed by a memorial luncheon at the Chesapeake City VFW.
