Gilbert “Butch” Caldwell Loveless, Jr., age 74, of North East, MD passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. He was born on June 30, 1950, in Elkton, MD to the late Gilbert Caldwell, Sr. and Martha Francis (Nowland) Loveless.

Butch was a member of UAW, as well as a lifetime member of Chesapeake City Fire Company, he held many positions to include, Board of Directors, Lieutenant, and Chief Hoseman.  He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan and was always sure to watch their games. Butch took great pride in working around his yard. His greatest joy in life was being a family man, especially when it came to the title “pop-pop”. Butch will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Butch is survived by his two children: Lisa Loveless and Gilbert T. Loveless; three brothers: Wilbert Loveless, Delbert Loveless and his wife, Kathleen, and John Loveless and his wife, Melissa; four step-children: Susan Brown, James Combs, Debbie Rice, and Charles Combs; twenty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Loveless; three brothers: Gary Nowland, George Loveless, and Franklin Loveless; granddaughter, Amber Dawn Lee; and grandson, Phillip Scott Combs.

A celebration of Butch’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where family and friends can join at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Chesapeake City Fire House” and sent in care of the funeral home.
