Geraldine Anne Long, age 82 of Elkton, MD passed away on July 13, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 15, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gerald Arwin Newland and Emily Ida (Quirk) Newland.

Geraldine was a devoted mother and housewife. She worked as a secretary at Elkton United Methodist Church, was a Dental Hygienist/Assistant. Her most recent profession was an aide at Holly Hall Elementary School. Geraldine adored her family and loved going with them to share tasty crab cakes at her favorite restaurant, Pier 1. She enjoyed being out in nature, birdwatching, and gardening. Animals held a special place in her heart. She always enjoyed a good crossword puzzle!

Geraldine is survived by her Children: Joseph Long (Tammi), Samantha Long, and Sabrina Long (AJ); Grandchildren: Kody Lupfer (Lana), Samuel Ricci (Lindsay), Tabitha Ricci (Ryan), Alexis McMillan (Christopher), Chelsea Rodermeal (Christopher), Joseph Long, Jr., Chloe Shepard (Jacob), and Leah Garcia; four great grandchildren; brother, Bill Newland (Bonnie); and sisters: Cassie Clanton and Louise Fenimore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Joseph Long and sister, Vivian Bryant.

Services for Geraldine will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11AM at Christ of Cornerstone Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Road, Bear, DE 19701. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Wounded Warriors Project” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
