I am so saddened by George’s passing. When I started working with George in 1995, he made it his priority to help me adjust to the culture shock of working for the Army after decades in private industry. George encouraged (pushed?) me to volunteer for the local chapter of a professional association, opening so many opportunities for me and my career. George gave his best to Army contracting. Those who worked with, and for, George benefited from his vast knowledge. They knew him to be helpful and kind. And enjoyed his dry, wickedly funny sense of humor. George made sacrifices for his family, small and large. He and Trish gave their children a solid foundation upon which to face life’s many challenges, and to work through them. My life was made better by knowing George. My heart goes out to Trish, his family and all his friends.

George was such a caring, funny, sweet, smart person! I've been blessed to call him my friend, even for such a short time. I'll never forget how he texted me every day last January when I spent 2 1/2 weeks isolated in the hospital. The texts helped keep my spirits up while fighting COVID-19. I'll never forget that nor how he always helped me at work. God Bless you George! I'll never forget you or the kindness you showed me.

I was so very shocked to hear of George's passing. He was a co-worker and great friend of mine for over 3 decades. His work ethic and knowledge of Army contracting was exemplary, and I know he passed his knowledge to many others. George and I had very much in common and especially enjoyed discussing music (what a Springsteen fan he was!), football, and many other subjects. He was a cool guy and a very special friend to me. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to Trish and the rest of his family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

George and I worked in the same branch at APG for the past 6 years. I was always impressed by his work-related knowledge and his logic and trivia skills. George was a very good listener and giver of sage advice. He was very well respected within our organization as a “go-to” guy for procurement advice. He was very proud to recently become a grandfather and was looking forward to spending time with his granddaughter. I will miss him, and I send heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest in peace George.

I worked with George a couple of years ago and found him to be a complete joy to work with. He always had a story to tell, and he always made me laugh .... He was literally a walking encyclopedia, and a walking wealth of wisdom, knowledge and understanding of all things Contracting. I appreciated that he took the time to stop and impart knowledge in a way that was respectful and discerning. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, and he cared about the work we do in a way rarely found in the workforce anymore. I hadn't seen George in a couple of years, and never got the chance to tell him thank you for the personal and professional advice he offered ... He was a good person, and he will be missed greatly by our organization and those who ever had the opportunity to work with him and get to know him. My sincere and deepest sympathy to his wife and his children .... prayers for peace that surpasses all understanding are with you during this very difficult time. Sincerely, and with all due Respect, toni

To the family of Mr. George Hunt. I knew George from work at APG. He assisted me and my team on a source selection. George’s effort with the Past Performance in a position and the Chair Authority were monumental in us successfully complete and awarding a large $5.1B contract effort. Things I remember about him are/is he was committed, approachable dedicated, loyal and a dapper dresser. He will be greatly missed. g

George was a one-of-a-kind guy. I had the pleasure of working with him for over ten years at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He always knew the answers to our trivia games. One of my favorite memories of George was when he offered to come pick me up at my house to go to our division's Christmas party in December 2019, as I broke my leg and ankle and was not able to drive myself. He drove far out of his way to get me, and we laughed and talked for those two hours in the car. George made us laugh. He was smart. He was kind. He was tender-hearted. He loved his family so much and talked about them all the time. Most of all, George was my friend. I will miss him greatly.
