George Milton Cage Sr.

George Milton Cage, Sr., age 90 of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1933 in Edgewood, MD to the late Edward Leroy Cage and Mary (Moore) Cage.

George was a proud US Army Veteran. He worked as a Carpenter for many years in the construction industry before retiring. Once retired George worked at Martin’s in Rising Sun, where his fellow colleagues became family. George enjoyed fishing, woodworking and creating many crafts. He built rocking horses, wagons, shelves for their home and other household décor. George was a member of the American Legion Post 194, where he loved going to shoot pool with friends and socializing with people. He was a very spiritual, caring, and loving person who loved his family and was committed to help others. George will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him

George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia A. Cage; son, Tony R. Cage; grandchildren: Alysha Heath (Mike), George Cage, III, and Autumn Cage; great-grandchildren: Trevor, Deklen, Baileigh, Jalynn, and one on the way, Matthew; brothers: Alvin Cage, and Ronnie Cage; sister, June Singleton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, George Cage, Jr.; granddaughter, Ashlan Cage; brothers: Lawrence Cage, Eddie Cage, Kenny Cage, and Billy Cage; sisters: Virginia, and Florence.

Services for George will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
