George Frank Andress, Sr., age 79 of Elkton, MD passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on June 8, 1946 in Elkton, MD to the late Frank Andress and Mary Matilda (Promutico) Andress.
If you knew George, you knew that his life revolved around cars. He was always buying cars: old or new, he didn’t discriminate. He would fix them up and then sell them. His family joked that he couldn’t drive past a car dealership without stopping and buying a car. George owned over 1,000 cars in his lifetime. He also loved motorcycles and preferred Harley Davidson.
George cared deeply for his family and was loving towards others. He was known to tease people and the more he teased you, the more he liked you.
George is survived by his daughter, Tina Johnson and her husband, Jodie; grandchildren: Heather, Brittnee, Tara, and Courtney; 13 great grandchildren; and siblings: Linda Walls and her husband, David and Deborah Lagano and her husband, Joe.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Andress; son, George Frank Andress, Jr.; stepson, Shane Gregg; and sister, Patricia Land.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Cherry Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “American Kidney Fund” or “American Heart Association” and send in care of the funeral home: P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
