Genevieve B. Seward passed away peacefully in her loving home at Caraway Manor, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She was born on August 29, 1929 to the late John and Mary Bolton. She will be remembered as a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener, growing beautiful vegetable and flower gardens.

She lived in Cecil County all her life being raised on the farm. After high school she worked for Peoples Bank in Elkton, she was a Title I teacher’s aide in Chesapeake City Elementary School, and later worked for Home Beneficial Insurance. She also managed the family business, John Seward Machine Shop. She was very active in Aglow Women’s Ministry and in her church.

She is survived by her son, John Seward Jr. and wife, Miriam of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Dorothy Burkley and husband, Scott of Middletown, DE, Emily Ilyas and husband, Mohammad of Hockessin, DE, and Carol Rau and husband Jack of Boiling Springs, PA; daughter-in-law Donna Seward of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Yvette, Nicole, John III, Phillip, Andrew, Joy, Kimberly, Karrie, Kami, Barbara Lee, Christopher, and Angie; 6 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, David; her sister, Mary Moll and brother, John Bolton Jr.

Services will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
