I just learned of Garry's passing and would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Garry was a wonderful neighbor who always had your back: he was the older guy in the area that we all looked up to on the bus. I'm so happy to hear that he and Pat shared a wonderful life together albeit too short. May God be with you and bring you the peace.
John Jackson left a message on March 22, 2015:
I was sorry to hear of Garrys passing. Our sincere condolences go out to Garrys entire family. I grew up spending a lot of time with Garry and his family. They were like a second family to me. Garry was someone I looked up to. He was a loving, caring man. He knew how to make people laugh. I'm glad I had the chance to know him. He will be missed.
Preston Greer left a message on February 9, 2015:
I'd like to extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to Garry's entire family. Garry and I were classmates together and were linemen together on the football team. With Garry passing it has sure stirred a lot of memories in me, as we'd already lost a couple of us already. Garry and I locked legs a many time against a lot of opponents, and let me tell you with Garry Jackson beside you, you never had to worry about not being covered or somebody not standing tall with you. I cannot remember one time of not trusting Garry and being proud that Garry Jackson was beside me. From what I've read, from his family and friends, that's how he lived his life, we should all strive to leave such a legacy. I left Md. in the 1970's and when I returned for my 20th reunion, all of a sudden somebody bearhugged me from behind and picked me up off the ground, I didn't even have to hear his voice, I knew who it was. What a friend. Though with the passing of someone like Garry, such voids are created, and we can never stop missing them, we need to thank God for allowing us to have such wonderful memories to help us deal with it. Preston Greer -Friend and Classmate McMinnville,Tenn.

Pat and family..... "There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go". I will dearly miss Gary..... I will miss the good arguments we had together...how he would always tell me that I talked to much....how he would lie on the floor and pretend that he wasn't listening to our conversation...and how I needed to treat my husband better.... So all my tears are of wonderful memories of a man... who also helped make a special moment of my life come true...when he helped my husband and friends to built our dream house....

Pat & Family So sorry about Garry he was a great friend of mine. I first met Garry many years ago when I was playing Baseball next to Pat Coyles house, I saw this young man walking a horse and I asked who he was and Pat Coyle told my Dad & I his Name is Garry Jackson. We have known each other since. He and I in recent years talked about Griffith Cemetery that he took care. But when we would talk he always talked about his lovely wife Pat and his Children.Just a few months ago Garry came down to my house after his stroke. He told me how grateful he was to his loving wife Pat for all she has done. Then he talked about the Church and Cemetery and wanted his Brother Bishop Delbert Jackson to come down and talk with he and I about setting up Guidelines for the Cemetery. I always said Garry you have slow down but he had a big heart for people. My wife Cheryl always enjoyed Garry and his Dad when they would stop by. We will miss you my friend but your memories will always be there. You are in Gods Hands and Have Joined Mom & Pop Rest In Peace My Friend God Bless

To Garry's family and friends. I am deeply saddened to hear of Garry's passing. Playing H.S. football with Garry I developed a great appreciation for both his competitiveness, but especially his unique kindness which was rare to find in a teammate. Two of my favorite people are reunited in Heaven. Garry Jackson and Allen Reeves. May God bless you in your time of sorrow. Bruce E. Magaw
