Franklyn Leo Lewis, Sr., age 82 of Horn Town, VA, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. He was born in Chesapeake City, MD on September 22, 1935 to the late George Lewis and Mary Olivia Hess Lewis.
Franklyn served in the United State Army and National Guard. He enjoyed coaching for Elkton Little League. Franklyn used to camp in North East with his children and their neighborhood friends. He sang in the Red Lion choir. During his time serving in the Army during the Korean War, Franklyn was part of the 101st airborne division paratrooper.
Franklyn is survived by his loving wife of nearly 32 years, Barbara Lewis; sons, Franklyn L. Lewis, Jr. (Regina) and Charles Lewis, Sr. of Elkton, MD; daughter, Anne Theresea Eckhart (Charles) of Elkton, MD and 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elsie Issac of North East, MD; sister, Rosemary Comer of MT; brother, Robert Lewis (Barbara) of Middletown, DE; and brother, Earl Lewis of MT.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Barbara Lewis” to help pay for funeral expenses and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
