Franklin M. N. Hood, Jr., age 81, of Lincoln University, PA passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Frank was born February 20, 1945 to the late Franklin Miller Norman Hood, Sr. and Mary Jane (Harrington) Hood. Having spent most of his life in Claymont and Wilmington, Delaware, and his final year at Ware Presbyterian Senior Living in Oxford, PA.
Frank worked for Amtrak & Conrail for the majority of his career before retiring due to a work-related injury. He was fondly remembered for his love of trains, celebrating Christmas, hosting family barbecues in the summer, and researching his family’s ancestral heritage and surname in his later years. He enjoyed volunteering at the Wilmington VA Medical Center.
He leaves behind two devoted daughters, Yvonne D. Bistany and Jeanette R. Lennon, who cared for him until his passing. He is also survived by three grandsons, E. Kyle Clerval (Miranda), Erik P. Bistany, and Sean P. Bistany (Katheren Nantes), and his great-granddaughter, Harper.
He was the eldest of seven siblings. He is survived by his siblings Mary Katherine Kaminski, Earl Hood, Sr., and Lawrence Hood, Sr., along with numerous nieces and nephews.
At a younger age, Frank also had three girls; Leslie Fisher (deceased), Kimberly Hood (deceased), and Sandra Fisher.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded by his siblings: Lena Sipple, Elaine Fleetwood, and Wayne Hood, Sr.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Ware Presbyterian and Brandywine River Valley Hospice for their support and assistance during our father’s end of life.
Services for Frank will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Tunnels to Towers” or “Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA” and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
