Franklin D. Arthur, age 86, of Elkton, MD passed away January 12, 2020. He was born on July 24, 1933 in Powellton, WV to the late William and Vivian Arthur.
Frank served our country in the United States Army 101st during the Korean War, where he drove for the General. During his professional career, he was involved in general contracting and learned many trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting. Frank found a hobby in woodworking. His favorite football teams were the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and West Virginia Mountaineers. He enjoyed watching western shows and movies and anything with John Wayne. He liked watching The Andy Griffith Show and Gun Smoke. Frank was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be especially missed during the Christmas holiday when decorating the tree.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Livesay (Freddie) of Boomer, WV; son, Robert “Bobby” Franklin Arthur of Elkton, MD; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Arthur of Boomer, WV; daughter, Lisa C. McMillion (Jesse Lotman) of Elkton, MD; sister, Jean Null of Charleston, WV; sister, Jerry Stubbs of Newark, DE; brother, Vincent Arthur of Elkton, MD; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by sisters: Virginia, Violet, Vivian, Viola, and Billie.
A celebration of Franklin D. Arthur’s life will be held 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends are being called to visit at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
