Frankie “Frank” Wayne Griffey, 63, of Darlington, Maryland, passed away on July 28, 2026. Born on May 2, 1963, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of Tom Griffey and the late Hazel Griffey (née Hagen). He was the devoted husband of 37 years to Teresa Griffey (née Wiley).
Frank spent many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Mickey’s Asphalt Company, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of his coworkers. A back injury eventually led to his early retirement, but he embraced the next chapter of life with the same quiet strength he brought to everything he did.
An outdoorsman at heart, Frank found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling, and he cherished every moment spent in the woods or on the water. Above all, he enjoyed his life and the people he shared it with.
Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Griffey; stepchildren Chrystal (Danny) Bauman and Wesley (Sheena) Haynie; five step-grandchildren; siblings John (Bonnie) Griffey, Tom (Lisa) Griffey Jr., and Kim (Clark) McGuire; and step-brother Chris Mason.
A private family interment will be held at Darlington Cemetery.
