Francis L. Crossan “Bud” of Elkton, MD, age 90, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was born on April 19, 1927 in Strickersville, PA to the late Herbert Leon Crossan, Sr. and Virginia (Boys) Crossan.

Bud attended Brown Vocational Technical High School in Wilmington, DE. He retired from the University of Delaware in 1988. Bud was born a farmer and remained active throughout his life, right up until the time of his death.

Bud is survived by his wife of seventy years, Helen (Smith) Crossan of Elkton, MD; daughter, Diane V. Lawler and her husband, Mark of Elkton, MD; and two grandchildren: Virginia Morris and her husband, Adam of Newark, DE and Zachary Sawyer of Newark, DE. Bud is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church, 1100 W. Church Rd., Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the adjacent cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bud’s honor may be made payable to “PAWS for People” or “Seasons Hospice” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
