Frances Olga Springer, age 86, of Port Deposit, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Frances was born on January 11, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Anton and Olga (Eppich) Gliebe.
Frances spent many years working as an Executive Assistant. She began her career with Helena Rubenstein, later joined Sigmund Weis Engineering, and finished her career in Student Affairs at the New York Institute of Technology, where she was admired for her professionalism, dedication, and kindness.
A woman of deep faith and many talents, Frances was a devoted member of the choir at Church of the Good Shepherd, where she joyfully shared her love of singing. As a young woman, she was very theatrical and played the leading lady in numerous drama productions for her church. Frances found great excitement in traveling the world. She had the opportunity to visit many countries in Europe including Ireland, Egypt, Spain, England, and Israel as well as many historical landmarks and national parks in the United States. She was also a gifted artist who found great happiness in painting landscapes and beautifully creating hand-painted eggs for each of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. These treasured keepsakes reflected her creativity, generosity, and enduring love for her family. In her recent years, Frances loved tending to her garden.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Wendy Cavalluzzo (William) and Helena Braun (Michael); her cherished grandchildren, Jaclyn Martinez (Jacob), Melissa Martinson (Dan), Holly Jaap (Zachary), Billy Cavalluzzo (Melissa), Heidi Cavalluzzo, Kaitlyn Cavalluzzo, Riley Cavalluzzo, Jennifer Riddell (Dan), and Samantha Braun; and her cherished great grandchildren Jacob, Thomas, Benjamin, Ella, Ezra, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Winnifred Catanzaro.
Frances will be remembered for her unwavering faith, artistic gifts, and the love she so freely shared with those around her.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30PM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 831 Aiken Ave, Perryville, MD 21903. Burial will be held privately at St. Charles Cemetery in Long Island, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
