Frances Dolores Ford, age 85, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday July 19 2013 at the home of her granddaughter, Sarah Sweetman and her husband, Kevin Sweetman.

She was born in Chester, PA on December 5, 1927, the daughter of the late Michael Ratay and Anna Sotock. She was also predeceased by her husband Joseph Ford, with whom she wase happily married for 50 years. As life is a beautiful thing, death shines upon us all and comes to claim us in the twinkling of an eye. When not is our time. This is a fact that Frances Ford knew very well and would often say ” I am only going to live to the day I die”. She did not fear death but embraced the inevitable fate that eventually death greets us all. For many who knew her, loved her kind heart, generosity, and all around personality. She was one of a kind that will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her two sisters Mary Nester and Alfreda Lancey, her four children Joseph Ford, Linda Ferris, Mark Ford, and Brian Ford, her eleven grandchildren Michael Ford,Kelly Ford,Sarah Sweetman ,Amy Ford , Jonathan Ford, Deborah Ferris, Robert Ferris, Brian Ford, Barry Ford, Casey Ford , and also her ten great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Cecilton Zion Cemetery on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

I always admired my Aunt Frannie's great artistic talent. As a young child I remember the beautiful scenes she would paint on her large picture window every Christmas season. She also was a fantastic seamstress which I remember from the prom gowns she created for my cousin Linda, one year being a straight design, the next year a full ball gown. I still recall their colors and details. She also made my flower girl dress for my cousin Joanne's wedding...Because I grew up to be an artist myself, I felt this was a special connection I had with her and I acknowledged her in an artist's statement I wrote for one of my art shows. So again, thank you Aunt Frannie, I thought about you three times shortly before you passed. P.S. I hope you and Uncle Joe are having a good time!
