Florence Lola Sweetman, 76, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home. Born February 15, 1940 in Elkton, MD, Florence was the daughter of the late Walter James Case and Florence Lola (Marker) Case.
Florence is survived by her five daughters, Carla J. MacDonald and husband, Douglas, of GA, Ellen R. Sweetman of Elkton, MD, Donna L. Laird and husband, Mike, of Northeast, MD, Tina M. Sweetman of Chesapeake City, MD and Dawn D. Markland and husband, Michael, of Chesapeake City; two sons Michael T. Sweetman and wife, Monica, of FL and M. Bryan Sweetman, and wife, Kim, of Elkton, MD; nine grandchildren; eleven great –grandchildren; brothers, Charles E. Case, of Galena, MD, P. Lee Case, of Butler, TN and George Case of Rising Sun, MD.
In addition to her parents, Florence is predeceased by her spouses, Carl W. Sweetman and William Gallucci, four brothers and six sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks of gratitude to Britney of Amedisys Hospice and close friends of the family, Charles Lidstone and Debbie Nix.
A service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915, where family and friends are encouraged to visit beginning at 10AM. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to “Chesapeake City Volunteer Fire Company” and “Union Hospital Breast Health Center” sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home. P.A. P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
