Faye Hardt, age 71 of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 20, 1947 in Bradshaw, WV to the late Elmer Harrison Rowe and Betty Louise (Beckner) Rowe.
Faye was a very strong and brave individual. In 1976, she battled a sudden and unexpected medical condition that significantly altered her and her family’s way of life. Despite the challenges that this condition brought, Faye overcame these hardships and continued to raise her two young children and care for her husband. She even traveled to Florida, Germany, and Paris with this condition. She was a survivor and wouldn’t allow anything to stop her from loving life.
Faye had a strong love for her family and the Lord. Before each meal, she made sure to always give thanks and praise the Lord. Due to her medical condition, she was unable to attend church services, so every Sunday, Faye and her husband would watch a live stream church service.
She had many people who loved and cared for her over the years, but the family would like to especially thank her two nieces: Brenda Yates “Command Central” for strategic coordination and planning and Jennifer Burchard “Family Nurse Practitioner” for providing medical and physical comfort to their Aunt Faye.
Faye is survived by her loving and supportive husband of 49 years, Arthur E. Hardt of New Castle, DE; son, Arthur E. Hardt, Jr. of New Castle, DE; daughter, Susan Noy Borcherding, and her husband, Ron of Hudson, FL; nieces: Brenda A. Yates and her husband, Jamie of Newark, DE, Jennifer Burchard and her husband, Todd of Newark, DE, and Kristen Smith and her husband, Steve of Aston, PA; sister-in-laws: Sandra J. Patton of Newark, DE and Carol A. Brown of Millsboro, DE; and brother-in-law, John P. Hardt and his wife, Patricia of Bear, DE.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Rowe.
Services for Faye will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
