Fay Bennett Rodgers, 63, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Union Hospital.
Born August 6, 1951 in Elkton, MD, Fay was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Secord) Bennett. She was a lifelong employee of the Bayard House where she worked as a server. She was very passionate about serving her customers well and always remembered their drinks. In her free time she enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Fay is survived by her sons, Jeff Bennett and his wife, Michele and Mark Rodgers and his wife, Janice; six grandchildren, Meghan and Kendall Bennett and Kayla, Hunter, Madison, and Chase Rodgers; brother, Sonny Bennett; sisters, Ellen Robinson, Coleen Ogden, and Rosie Bennett; and several stepchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. Including her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rodgers, Sr. who passed away in 2014.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at the funeral home, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the American Cancer Society and sent in care to the funeral home.

This is one of the hardest things I have to do in my life, saying goodby to my best friend of 30 years. How I would like to have one more day to go and do all the things that made us laugh, we always had such a good time. We always talked about her grandchildren, her great cooking, her fancy cakes, going to yard sales, going to the beach, out for dinner, or just talking about life, what heart aches she had to deal with, these are the things I will miss. So glad I had time to visit with her in the Hospital and give her a hug and tell her I loved her, and reassured her everything would be alright. Till we meet again my friend, I will always have a special place in my heart for you!

Fay touched so many lives with her genuine love of people.I worked with Fay for close to 10 years,and she brought laughter,warmth,and caring to us all.She created a sense of family for all that worked with her and for the people she served in the restaurant.Everybody wanted Fay to take care of their table because she made them feel so very special.She remembered their names,what they liked to eat and drink,and she listened to them about their families and the things that were important to them.That is how she treated her co-workers as well.And her sons!
