Faith E. Archer, 81, of North East, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the company of her beloved husband, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 5, 1934 in Lancaster, PA, Faith was the oldest daughter of the late Phillip John Emmerich and Florence Gladys (Killian) Emmerich. Faith has four sisters, Hope Bachman of Strasburg, PA, Carol Moore and Louise Canan of Rock Hall, MD and Phyllis Hernandez of CA.
In her younger years, Faith trained at the Charles of the Ritz in NY where she studied cosmetology. She also modeled hats for Hager’s Department Store in Lancaster, PA. Faith enjoyed boating and loved the North East River.
She won several awards for Jerry’s Kids before retiring from 7-eleven Corp in Florida. She enjoyed wearing interesting jewelry to delight her customers, such the “famous hotdog” earrings. After retirement, she worked part-time at Weaver’s Plum Creek Store for fun. While there, she made pillows, blankets, crocheted dolls and toys for her customers and grandchildren. She offered a helping hand to anyone in need and made many friends in the Turkey Point area. Faith touched many lives with her contagious smile and friendly demeanor. She will be missed dearly.
Faith is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald C. Archer; her daughter, Donna Archer Holmes, sons, Kenneth Allan Archer, Sr. and Donald Briggs Archer; her grandchildren, Monica Bell (Dwayne), Ken Archer, Jr. (Courtney), Bennett Holmes (Sarah), Jessica Zionkowski, Nikki Nelson (Shane), Katherine Pappas (Mike), Brindelin Archer, Linsay Woolman, Mary Woolman, James Woolman, and Marina Archer. Faith was blessed to have 12 great-grandchildren. Faith was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Vickie Snyder and her grandson, Dennis Reynolds, Jr.
A celebration of Faith’s life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 24th at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Donald Archer and sent in care of the funeral home.
