Evelyn A. Wilson, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at her residence in Newark, DE. She was born on January 7, 1944 in Chester, PA to the late George E. and Anna (Humphries) Scott.
Evelyn is survived by her niece Barbara Dale, two great nieces; Shantell Dale and Desarie Dale, brother-in-law Steven Lester of Newark, nephews Bill Wilson, and William Smiley, his wife Dawn, their 3 children, and several other nieces and nephews, her three cats; Cuddles, Oreo and Princess. Her husband, Raymond D. Wilson, Jr., her parents, George E. Scott and Anna O. Scott, and her sister Barbara E. Lester preceded her in death.
She retired from the Newark County Club after 30 years as a waitress. Evelyn was known for memorizing all the club members account numbers. She loved her cats and dogs and they were well cared for. Many would say, “When I come back I want to come back as one of Evelyn’s pets”.
A graveside service will be held at 11am Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Newark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable Faithful Friends Animal Shelter and sent in care the R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc. 122 W. Main St, Newark, DE 19711.

I knew Evelyn through my brother Jack Good. Jack worked with Evelyn for over 20 years at the Country Club. Even after he left the Club he,Evelyn and Dorthea kept in touch. Jack was very fond of Evelyn and this evening he just told me she was like a sister to him. He will miss her very much. I was always deeply touched by her friendship with my brother and she was one of the few truly good friends he has ever had. She will be truly and deeply missed by Jack.
