Eve Allyn Sagosz, age 87, of North East, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023. She was born on September 20, 1935, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Lester M. Lucas and Mary Lucas (Lukachyk).
Eve’s life was a tapestry of creativity and cherished connections. She had a passion for arts and crafts, finding joy in creating homemade greeting cards, meticulously scrapbooking memories, and crafting intricate dollhouses. Her dexterity extended to her love for Mahjong, where she became an accomplished player, sharing laughter and camaraderie with friends and family.
However, it was in the kitchen that Eve truly shone. Her skillful Italian cooking was a testament to her love for her family, creating flavors that became synonymous with gatherings and comfort. Her dishes were more than just food; they were a manifestation of her warmth and care for those she cherished. Eve was fond of high tea, as she enjoyed her favorite beverage, Swee-Touch-Nee tea.
Eve’s sense of community extended to her membership in the Red Hat Society, where she embraced life with a spirited flair. In addition, she was also a founding member of the Women’s American ORT Association in Piscataway, NJ.
Eve’s legacy lives on through the love and memories she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered by her family and friends as a woman of unwavering kindness, creativity, and love.
Eve is survived by her two children: Mark Sagosz and his wife, Rebecca, and Andrea Pecsi and her husband, Chris; three grandchildren: Greg Sagosz and his wife, Jordan, Allison Sagosz and her fiancé, Nate, and Alyson Ditmore; and one great-grandchild: Sloane Sagosz.
In addition to her parents, Eve is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Sagosz, and her brother, Ronald Lucas.
A celebration of Eve’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends will gather to share stories and memories. The visitation will begin at 10:00AM. Burial will be held privately.
