My sister, Kelly Frey and I (Tammi Phillips) would spend time with Eugene, when we would visit our grandmother, Nancy Vickery at Singerly Manor. (she recently passed away--May 19, 2015) Eugene and Nancy sat together often and she even claimed that she was going to "marry him. Eugene was wonderful and so sweet. We are better people for knowing him.

Meekins Family So sorry for your loss, Gene was a good friend and over the years we had many stories we would share. He would go out of his way to help others and he never met a stranger. Gene served his country and most of all he was dedicated to the Singerly Fire Company. I'am so glad that I saw him just a few weeks ago at Singerly Manor when our group was there to sing. Dudley was there and Gene was so glad to see me. He will be missed by so many, but his memories will always be in our hearts. God Bless You Gene

Gene was a wonderful uncle to Amelia and Chelsea. They adored him and always looked forward to visiting with him. He loved to cook and continued the tradition of cooking the "feasts" and worried they weren't as good as his mom's. They were just as good. It was an honor to be his sister-in-law and I will miss dearly.
