Ernestine Grinstead, age 89, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away on July 1, 2014. Ernestine was born in Meadowview, VA on April 18, 1925 to the late Thomas and Margaret Johnson.
Ernestine was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and she loved working in her flower beds. She will be sorely missed by many.
She is survived by one sister, Peg Lucas of Rising Sun, MD; daughters, Cathy Henson of Weatherford, TX and Dottie Bickel of Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren, Chuck & Carrie Henson, Philip Bickel and Rachel Broomell; and 6 Great Grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her love of 61 years, Porter Grinstead who passed away in 2003.
A Service honoring Ernestine’s life will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, family and friends may visit starting at 1:00 pm.
Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.

We have such fond memories of visiting with both Ernestine and Porter over the years. They were always so hospitable and such fun to be with. They were always willing to share whatever they had with us. We played some good card games, watched some baseball games with them, went to their favorite places to eat out as well as having some very good meals at home! Ern shared her favorite authors with us so we've had several hours of enjoyable reading thanks to her. We will really miss visiting with and talking with her.
