Ernest Leroy Demonia age 51 of Bear, DE passed away on February 17, 2022. Born on May 26, 1970 in Wilmington, DE he was the devoted son of the late Ernest Demonia and survived by his cherished mother Louise (Hayes) Demonia .
Ernie worked in Custodial Care at Stubbs Elementary School in Wilmington, DE where he was much adored by all the children and staff. He was a dedicated member of the facilities union under the Christina school district. Ernie played Semi-Pro Football for the Wilmington Bucks in his younger days and later coached the “Raiders” Little League Football Team in his spare time. He was an avid LA Lakers and Raiders Fan. He enjoyed Bass Fishing on his boat, all genres of music, Sci Fi Movies and BBQing with family and friends. Every cookout, he would put you off your own grill and take over. He was a devoted member of the Weekend Warriors Fishing Club where he was a dominant force winning most of the tournaments with Fred and Mike. Ernie was a devoted family man and loved taking trips to Ocean City Maryland beach resort. Ernie always had a soft spot for his mother whom he was a caregiver for until the end along with his faithful cousin Diane.
The family will always remember Ernie as being supportive and dependable in every situation. If you were family, Ernie always had your back. He was always the Peacemaker and seemed to see things from everyone’s view by not judging others. Also, he was the type of person to give you the shirt off his back but if you were wrong he would tell you. Ernie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him especially his famous saying “everybody needs to come to the table” “It is all gravy when it’s smothered” That’s what she said” “when push comes to a shove, push just comes to a shove” Yo cuz” “You know you know you know”. Most of all Ernie wanted and encouraged everyone he loved to live their life and do what makes them happy.
Ernest is survived by his beloved wife, Karlyse Demonia of 26 years; two sons: Antonio Crocker, Toron Crocker; three daughters: Arnae Crocker, Tajsha Bailey, Kayla Demonia; 10 grandchildren; five sisters: Nadine Demonia, Ernestine Demonia, Annette Demonia, Janel Demonia – Ames, Margaerite Demonia-Watson; three brother-in-laws: Kevin Mcchaffin, Leroy Ames, Lee Watson; Devoted cousin: Diane Bradford, Elvert Douglas (Buddha) and a host nieces and nephews ; best friends: Frederick Terry and Mike Machmer.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home – 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE.
Funeral Service and Interment will be private by family request.
