Ernest (Ed) Evans of Newark, DE, formerly of Elkton, MD, passed away on December 29, 2011. He was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Hager Evans. He was born on December 8, 1929 in Ronceverte, WV.
Ed attended school in WV and moved to Elkton in 1941 with his family. He worked as a short order cook until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Clarence and Billy Evans; his companion of 35 years, Dotty Grey; brothers, Clearence Evans Jr., Bob Evans, and Charles Samuel Evans; and sisters, Mary McLaughlin, Helen McKnight, Mabel Reynolds, and Hazel Wiseman.
Ed is survived by his sister, Nell Evans Husfelt of Elkton, MD; step-daughter, Lana Punchak, who was his caregiver; grandsons, Steve Punchak and Steve Mullins; and several nieces and nephews.
