Elizabeth A. “Betty” Johnson Smith, 85, of Newark, DE, passed away January 31, 2015 at Manor Care, Pike Creek.
A lifelong resident of Newark, Betty was the daughter of the late Harvey and Madeline Heitzenroder Johnson. She was a 1947 graduate of Newark High School and attended the University of Delaware. She worked as an administrative assistant at Patterson Schwartz Realty and the International Reading Association. She was a talented artist, an avid golfer and a member of the DuPont Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband I. Ross Smith who died in 2011, her brother William Bellman and her sister Dorothy Roskoph. Surviving are her sister-in-law, Julia Bellman and nieces and nephews, Julia Greenplate, Michael, Gary and William Bellman, Collene Hudson, Lorraine Grube, Lyn Dorsey and Susan Fitzpatrick.
Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
