Eleanor B. Osborne, age 92 of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 23, 2018. She was born on April 12, 1925 in Port Deposit, MD to the late John H. Buck and Clara (Brown) Buck.
Eleanor was a graduate of Bel Air High School and later attended Hood College. On February 16, 1944, she married the love of her life, Joseph Bryan Osborne and they became a family of five. Eleanor and J.B owned and operated Zion Meadows Farm in Cecil County and were prominent dairy farmers. In her earlier years, she was a leader in Cecil County 4-H and was a member of Holstein Association. For many years, Eleanor was a member of Cecil County Home Makers. She was also a member of Daughters of American Revolution. She was a member of many churches throughout her life including: First Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Zion United Methodist Church, West Nottingham Presbyterian Church, and most recently Centre United Methodist Church in Forest Hill, MD. Eleanor had a very creative mind and was very intrigued by genealogy.
Eleanor is survived by daughters: Nancy Rumney (Paul) of Belfast, ME and Joanne Osborne of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Betty Buck Pierce of FL; brother-in-law, William Osborne; seven grandchildren: Bryan Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Alyssa White, Eric White, Jamie Bartell, Katie Kunkel, and Nathan Rumney; nine great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; multiple step great-great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bryan Osborne; daughter, Molly Kunkel; great-granddaughter, Randi Taylor; and step great-grandson, Alan Whitt.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 6-8:00 pm at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at Centre United Methodist Church, 2409 Rocks Road, Forest Hill, MD 21050 with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery, 133 Harrisville Road, Colora, MD 21917. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “William Paca Chapter DAR” or “Centre United Methodist Church” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
