Eileen F. Cleaves, of Willow Valley Manor in Lancaster, PA, formerly of Newark, DE, departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Arbor View Health Center.

Eileen was a resident of Willow Valley Manor since 2004, moving from Newark, DE with her loving husband, H. DuVal Cleaves, who passed away in 2015. Eileen retired from Curtis Paper Mill in Newark, DE, where she worked for more than forty years. She was a member of Boehms United Methodist Church in Willow Street, PA. Prior to Boehms UMC, she was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newark, DE.

Eileen is survived by her good friends, William W. Spiegelhalder of Lancaster, PA, John and Beth Curran of Providence, RI, Charles and Nancy Stewart of Newark, DE, and James and Vonda Killian of Lancaster, PA.

A service will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where friends may visit beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Eden, Rev. Ernie Olsen, and Rev. William W. Spiegelhalder. Memorial gifts may be made payable to Boehms United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Wonderful memories of Mr and Mrs Duvall strolling through the neighborhood hand in hand. Two sweet and kind love birds. I will never forget you.

We continue to miss the Mr and Mrs Cleaves who were our neighbors for many years in Silverbrook in Newark. Kind, good, caring people!

My husband and I were neighbors of dear Mr. and Mrs. Cleaves for many years and we sorely missed them when they left Newark. Our fondest memories are of their good nature, sincere kindness, and friendliness. When we think of them we happily picture them sweetly holding hands as they walked our block. They are together again.

I met Eileen at Curtis Paper, where I worked for many years. She and DuVal were great people who loved each other very much. I will miss them both, I know they're in Heaven now.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Eileen was a wonderful lady, I have known her for several years. She always had a kind word to say & a beautiful smile. She has joined her husband Duval in heaven but their kindness will always be remembered.
