Edward P. Stafford

Edward P. Stafford of Newark, DE, age 90, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Edward was born on September 6, 1930 in Wilmington, DE to the late Ernest Stafford and Margaret (Bakey) Stafford.

Edward graduated from Wilmington High School and played the clarinet in the school’s band. He then served in the Air Force and played clarinet for the Air Force Band and was discharged in 1953. Edward enjoyed making and listening to music and loved to tinker in creating his own music. His other hobbies included traveling and golfing. Edward loved vacations at the beach with the family and tailgating at the University of Delaware Football and Basketball games with family and friends.

Edward is survived by his wife of 19 years, June Grant-Stafford; step son, Bill Grant and his wife Linda; step daughter, Tammy Jacoby and her husband, Jim; grandchildren: Ashley Grant and her fiancé, Russell McMullen, Alex Grant, Danielle Jacoby and Patrick Jacoby. He is also survived by an extended family and friends.

Due to COVID 19, services for Edward will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Seasons Hospice” and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
