Edward (Ed) Oberdalhoff Jr. of Port Deposit, Maryland passed away quietly in his home on the morning of September 2, 2024, with his daughter, Doris, by his side. Ed was born in Baltimore City, Maryland on December 30, 1942, to the late Edward Oberdalhoff Sr. and Lillian (Phillips) Oberdalhoff. Ed worked many years in the transportation industry as a mechanic for Motor Freight Express. He also worked in the Purchasing Department at Cecil College until his retirement. He would spend his retirement pursuing many interests such as farming, gardening, woodworking and antique shopping. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the pursuance of taxidermy. Above all, Ed was a family man who loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his children: Edward Oberdalhoff III (Stephanie), Debbie Wooden (Perry), Wanda Rinehart (Randall), and Doris Cloud (Alonzo); his cherished grandchildren: Edward Oberdalhoff IV, Jason Oberdalhoff, Christopher Oberdalhoff (Victoria), Jacob Oberdalhoff, Allison Towner (Benjamin), Perry Wooden Jr., Shelby Rinehart, RJ Rinehart (Chelsea), Joseph Rinehart (Thalia), Alonzo Cloud III, and Stephen Cloud; great-grandchildren: Abigail Oberdalhoff, Avery Oberdalhoff, Cristiano Oberdalhoff, Abigail Towner and Cameron Towner. Ed is also survived by his brother Douglas Oberdalhoff.
Ed was preceded in death by his: parents, dear wife Carol Oberdalhoff, infant daughter Brenda Lee Oberdalhoff, brother William Oberdalhoff and his beloved dog Obie.
A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held privately among family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to the “American Diabetes Association” and/or “American Heart Association” and sent in care of the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, Maryland 21911.
