Edward John Lawrence

Edward John Lawrence, age 69, of Lumberton New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.  Ed was born on August 22, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward Theodore Lawrence and Josephine Elizabeth (McBride) Lawrence.

Ed graduated from Cinnaminson High School and attended Temple University.  He worked most of his life as a Quality Service Technician for Sears in the south Jersey area. He also delivered newspapers for the Burlington County Times.  Ed later retired and moved to Elkton Maryland, with his daughter and grandchildren.

Ed enjoyed being at the Jersey shore and surf fishing at Island Beach State Park.  He coached his children’s baseball and softball teams and was a notorious 3rd base coach at CYO Fields.  Ed was an avid sports fan, never missing an Eagles or Phillies game.

Ed is survived by his three children: Edward J. Lawrence, Charles B. Lawrence, and Elizabeth R (Lawrence) Lucas, her husband Cochise M. Lucas, two grandchildren; Eliza Rose and Primrose Layne; sister Joan (Lawrence) Wicks; as well as his loving pets, Misty the dog, Jelly Pepper the cat and his beloved chickens.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Sacred Heart CYO Baseball & Softball” and send in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
