Edward H. Campbell, 84, of Conowingo, MD, passed away June 19, 2013 at Union Hospital.
Born in McKeesport, PA on March 12, 1929, the son of the late Edward H. Campbell, Sr. and Mary Bachelor Campbell. A veteran of the US Army Air Corps, Ed was a retired Baltimore City Police Officer and also worked at GBMC, Nusinov’s Jewelers in Towson, NBRS and previously owned the Conowingo Dairy Bar. Always a servant of the community, Edward was a member of the Conowingo Road Church of Christ, a life member of the FOP and the NRA and also was active with the Masons, as a member of Stephenson Lodge #135 of AF&AM in Darlington, a member of the Susquehanna Shrine Club of Boumi Temple, and a member of Boumi Shriners, Baltimore, MD. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner for 52 years. As a Shriner, he was a driver for transporting children to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. As a police officer, he was an instructor and Master Marksman of the Baltimore City Police Pistol Team and champion of repeated competitions.
He is survived by his wife, Mille Davenport Campbell, his daughter Marie Jubb-Bichy of Perry Hall, MD; his grandson Edward Jubb (Kathy) of Concord, NC; his granddaughter Kelli Jubb, and his greatest joy, his three great grandsons, Ryan, Josh and Owen Jubb, who he called “The Three Musketeers”. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Sheila Abrams (Sam) and Essie Davenport and fiancé Ronnie Rapposelli; 4 step grandchildren, Rene’ Farrow(Steve), Larry Davenport (Vicki), Jeremy Justice (Christina) and Amanda Carey (Rob) and 13 step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Grace Campbell, his infant son, his brother Charles Campbell and six sisters.
A service honoring his life will be held on Monday June 24, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at a later date. Contribution checks may be made payable to Boumi Shrine Temple Shriners Hospital for Children and mailed to the funeral home.
