Edward Gregory Connolly, 58, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly at his home November 1, 2012.
Born in the Bronx, NY on October 5, 1954, Edward was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Jantek Connolly. Surviving are his sisters, Mary-Catherine Connnolly, Angela Connolly Cunneely, and Marguerite Connolly Cain, all of Newark. He was called Edward or Ed, but by far he was best known as “Uncle Eddie” to his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece, and will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Edward graduated William Howard Taft High School in 1972, and Bronx Community College in 1975, and was fluent in Spanish. He also loved to play the Tuba, and was a member of the Bronx Borough-Wide Orchestra while attending Macombs Junior High School 82 in the Bronx, performing with them at local concerts, as well as at Carnegie Hall.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 6:00PM, at the Salem United Methodist Church in Newark, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross c/o R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
