Edward Fowler Anthony, age 79, of North East, MD passed away peacefully at his home Monday, June 5, 2017. Born January 8, 1938 in Elkton, MD, Edward was the son of the late James C. Anthony and the late Amelia Castelow Stanley.
Mr. Anthony was retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 126, of Collegeville, PA. He loved spending time with his family and making runs and deliveries for J&L Automotive in North East.
Edward is survived by his wife of 40 years, Magdalene Anthony; eight sons, Edward L. Anthony of New Castle, Nick Anthony and Karen of Ocean City, MD, Lawrence Anthony and Krista of Wilmington, DE, Steven Anthony and Debbie of Port Deposit, MD, Ron Anthony of Chadds Ford, PA, Michael, Daniel, Jeffery Vipperman and Lori of North East, MD; daughter, Michelle Anthony McKean and Adam of Wilmington, DE. Ed was also survived by his sisters, Marie VanDyke and Jim, Joann Birney, Lydia Klukewiez, and brother, John Stanley of Elkton, MD; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Stanley and Roland Stanley.
A service will be held in Edward’s honor at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
