Edward E. “Gene” Wilson, 76, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly July 17, 2014 at his home.
Born on July 14, 1938, Gene was the son of the late Edward and Ethel Herstine Wilson. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware and worked for the federal government for 27 years. He travelled extensively around the world and loved music and going to shows on Broadway.
Gene is survived by his brother Kenneth H. Wilson, Sr. and his wife Diane of Lake Havasu City, AZ; two nephews, Kenneth Wilson, Jr. and James Wilson and a niece Christina Wilson Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lifelong friend, James Brown.
A graveside service will be held at New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Friday August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation of Delaware c/o R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
