Edward Dean Davis, aged 67, a beloved resident of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and joy. Born on November 28, 1956, in Colver, PA, he was the cherished son of the late Edgar Davis and Betty (nee, Holuta) Davis, and the devoted husband of Kathleen M. Davis.
Dean dedicated over 40 years of his life as an employee of Armstrong Telephone Company, demonstrating unwavering commitment and expertise until his well-deserved retirement. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dean was an enthusiast of the great outdoors, finding solace and delight in both salt and freshwater fishing and crabbing. He found immense joy in listening to rock music and strumming his guitar as loudly as possible.
His curiosity led him to tinker with electronic gadgets and build many projects from scratch. He enjoyed long car rides through the countryside, where he would get lost exploring and wander his way back home. Dean nurtured his passion for gardening, cultivating vibrant vegetables in his garden and generously sharing his harvest with friends and neighbors. His meticulous care extended to his lawn, where he found peace on his cherished John Deere lawn mower.
To his family, Dean was a pillar of gentleness and quiet strength, known for his calm demeanor and “goofy” sense of humor. Though Dean may have departed from this world, his spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love him.
Dean is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Kathleen M. Davis; his son, Bradley E. Davis, and wife Cody; his daughter, Angela M. LaRosch, and husband John; his son, Andrew C. Davis; as well as his adoring grandchildren: Nicholas Wagner, Katelyn Testerman and husband Zak, Julienne Wagner, Izabella LaRosch, Addyson Davis, Ayden Davis, Layne Shaver, and Rylee Davis. He is also survived by his loving sister, Linda L. Maes; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at R. T. Foard Funeral Home – 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD, on March 1, 2024 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.
