Edward D. Snovel, Sr., 75, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away July 6, 2012 at home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Trooper, PA, Ed was the son of the late John and Grace Keyser Snovel. He worked for Superior Tube Co. in Evansburg, PA for 18 years before moving to Maryland to become a farmer. Ed was a devoted family man and hard worker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maureen Musselman Snovel, three sons, Eddie Snovel, Jr. and Donnie Snovel, both of Chesapeake City and Jimmy Snovel and his wife Terry of Boothwyn, PA; two daughters, Reenie Malay and her husband Bill of Golts, MD and Kim Jourdan and her husband Jay of Earleville, MD; 9 grandchildren, Nicole Genery, Lindy Poore, Kolbi Martin, A.J. Jourdan, Jo Jo Cavallaro, Shane Snovel, Michael Snovel, Kara Snovel and Kevin Rosson – Snovel and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Mickey Genery and Earl Martin and great grandson Lance Rosson Snovel. The family wishes to thank Seasons Hospice for their care and compassion.
A service will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915 on Saturday July 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00. Burial will be in Galena Cemetery.
