Edward Carroll Reburn, Sr., age 85, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He was born on January 14, 1941, in Nottingham, PA, to the late Edward Crawford Reburn and Betty Anderson (Herr) Reburn.
Carroll was a talented, hardworking, and resourceful man who could take on just about any project. He was a true handyman who enjoyed figuring out how things worked and using his skills to get the job done. There was very little he couldn’t fix or build, and he took pride in his ability to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Carroll found great joy in working in his yard and gardening. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his plants, and keeping his yard looking its best. It was one of the many ways he found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He also had a love for music and dancing. He especially enjoyed listening to old country music, with Johnny Cash being one of his favorites. Whether he was listening to a familiar tune or enjoying a chance to dance, music was something that brought him happiness.
Some of Carroll’s most treasured memories were made camping with his family. Over the years, he enjoyed many camping trips to places such as Rehoboth Beach, Leisure Point, Elk Neck State Park, and many other destinations. These trips provided special opportunities to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors, share laughter, and create lasting memories that his family will cherish for years to come.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories Carroll created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His life was filled with simple joys, meaningful moments, and a lasting legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
Carroll is survived by his children: Edward Carroll Reburn, Jr. (Linda), Dawn Sommers (Rick), and Karen Evans (Bob); grandchildren: Edward, Matthew, Steve, Joshua, Brandon, Alexander, Kayla, and Deanna; and one great-grandchild, Aurora. In addition to his parents, Carroll is preceded in death by his loving wife, Deloris Ann Reburn; son, Larence Reburn; and grandchildren: Crystal Eastridge and Timothy Reburn.
A celebration of Carroll’s life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:00AM. Burial will be held at West Nottingham cemetery.
