Glenn Peel left a message on May 11, 2024:
My son, and countless other baseball and softball players’ success is directly connected to Ed Lynch. Ed's passion for coaching and the expectations he had for his athletes ensured that his players play the game the right way. He pushed his kids to make the realization that they could rise to the occasion. This is life changing as it can be applied throughout life. Ed liked to win, but more importantly, he wanted his players to execute what they had learned in practice on the field during games. I, as a father of one of his players, always knew that Ed considered a loss without mental mistakes a WIN! The Peel family will always respect, honor, and love Ed Lynch!

So sorry for your loss. Our years with Maryland Legends Softball were very memoriable. Eddie knew how to get it done and it was his way or the highway. He and I knocked heads more than once. It was a love / hate type relationship but he turned my daughter Kalyn into a very good softball player and taught her many life lessons and for that I will be forever thankful. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I just hope God likes Eddieisms. RIP

Eddie, you and I created so many memories especially in elementary school. You picked on me all the time! In a good way. I sat beside you in 6th grade and we always laughed together. I moved after school but I kept up with your wonderful life. You will be so missed. Love ya friend.
Danielle Becker left a message on May 8, 2024:
Ed and Renie were the most amazing coaches I ever had. They were the first people to truly believe that I could be great as long as I put the work in. My mental and physical toughness was elevated tremendously after being coached by them. This is such a sad passing and I hope he lives on in a better place. Thank you coach, for everything you did for us all.

I am so sorry for your loss. I went through school with Eddie and have many memories of sport team bus rides as well as classroom interactions. Later, as adults, his daughter Kimberly went to school with my son. Eddie always seemed larger than life while coaching teams and always supporting his children’s sport activities. His impact on the athletes he has mentored will live on.

Oh first off, Coach Eddie, may you rest in peace and thank you sooo soo much for being exactly who you are. This man played such a huge role in who I am today, how far I went in softball, how far I could have gone . May you rest and watch over all your family and loved ones , your program, your legacy. You touched so many lives and family you will be greatly missed. But, there was this time at practice the one time I ever actually was like upset with him honestly and I can just see him now eating his peanuts laughing. We were practicing and rising sun, and there were no lights, so it was my turn to field I stepped up there and when I filled up the ball I threw the ball lighter than usual. Well then Eddie gets on me for throwing the ball soft. A few plays later it’s my turn again and I threw everything into that ball and I’m running back in line and I hear Eddie. “ who threw the ball.” And I said “ me “ well then Eddie said “ go have a seat go pack your bags you’re done for the night throwing that ball like that trynna hurt somebody”. And I’m just like dang he just told me.. you know what ima pack my stuff😂😂😂. But I loved him for real he was a really Great person and a even better Coach!

Ed Lynch “Coach Ed” was my first ever legitimate baseball coach. He and his family were very close friends if my “The Kampes” family. Not only was I on the first ever Maryland Legends Travel Baseball team, I played on his team until I aged out at 18 and moved on to college and eventually professional baseball. After Playing for Ed, I continued to coach along side him and his teams and legends workouts. The bond that we created between each other was more than just player and coach. It was dear friends. I loved Ed so much. And I know that his legacy will live on forever. My family and his will remain extraordinary friends and will keep his legacy alive the best we know how.
