Carolyn Verbit, age 96, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was born in Wilmington, DE on November 10, 1926, to the late Wilmer Hayman and Hettie (White) Hayman.

In Carolyn’s spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved hosting dinner parties for her close friends. She was known for gardening and making beautiful flower arrangements. She always had fresh cut flowers on display. Carolyn was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. Johns where she served on the alter guild for many years. She was an active member of the junior board at The Memorial Hospital. Carolyn was a registered nurse for 40+ years and worked at The Memorial Hospital and her husband’s private practice.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Vicki Dann (JC) and four grandchildren: Ashley Davis (Sammy), Jake Dann (Karla), Alle Dann (Nathan) and Julia Dann. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Verbit, and brother, Jack Hayman.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3,2023 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
