Dwayne Clifton Webb, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was born in Beckley, WV, on December 6, 1953, to the late Earl Ray Webb, Sr. and Margaret (Lilly) Webb.
Dwayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He dedicated his life to the service of his nation and exemplified courage, honor, and selflessness. Dwayne’s commitment to duty led him to complete five peacekeeping tours in the Republic of Korea and participate in the liberation of Grenada. He cherished his time in the military and had a deep appreciation for military memorabilia, reflecting his enduring pride in his service.
Dwayne had an infectious sense of humor and was known for his quick wit and good jokes. His presence lit up a room. Dwayne took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
Dwayne is survived by his two children: Anthony G. Webb and Sonya K. Eichelberger and her husband, Shawnn; five grandchildren: Alauna, Matthew, Jackson, Alex, and Aiden; three siblings: Jeff Webb and his wife, Marie, Tammy Durr, and Pamela Hamlett and her husband, Don; and loved by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Webb, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Michael Durr.
A celebration of life will be held on July 17, 2023, at 12:30 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD, 21921. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:30 AM. Following the service, Dwayne will be laid to rest at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
