Duane Cleveland Shorter, age 56 of North East, MD passed away on August 31, 2023. He was born on June 29, 1967 in Baltimore, MD to Stella Mae (Hamm) and the late Richard Gerald Shorter, Sr.

Duane was a simple man who enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to fish in local areas of Cecil County and enjoyed deer hunting. Duane listened to all genres of music and enjoyed a good party. He rooted for the Baltimore Ravens each season and was an avid fan. Duane was a true family man. He loved them dearly and found great joy in attending family gatherings. Duane was a good person, and he will be missed.

Duane is survived by his wife, Michelle Shorter; son, Brendan; daughter, Breanna; and mother, Stella Shorter.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Timmy, Jerry, and Reva.

Services will be held privately.
