Doris M. Kennedy left a message on April 4, 2023:
I met Doris when I lived in Evergreen on the same street. I had retired, moved and returned to work at Newark Manor. Doris called looking for a nursing home for Frank and was surprised that I had returned to work. She was a ray of sunshine, devoted to Frank and family. Residents, family and staff benefited from her warmth, her smile and kindness to all. Those who leave us are never far away as long as we remember. And we remember Doris.

Sorry for your loss.
John and Sally Sitek left a message on April 3, 2023:
Our deepest sympathy goes out to Amy, Doris’ daughter, and our neighbor, and to Jeffrey and Kenny, her sons, along with the rest of the family. We have known Doris for at least 30 years. We have celebrated many events with her including weddings, births, and holidays. She and John enjoyed many birthday dinners as their birthdays are a day apart. We will remember the trips we made to Lancaster and Ken’s garden center so she could purchase her begonias. We would make a day of it, including lunch. She was a special lady and we always enjoyed her company. She will be sadly missed. Rest in peace. Love John and Sally.

As this candle glows, so will the memory of Doris glow in my heart.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Sandy Ozolins left a message on April 3, 2023:
My husband and I first met Doris at Newark Manor Nursing Home. She was there daily, visiting her husband Frank, and we were there visiting my mother. We spent a lot of time together, getting to know one another and participating in various activities. Doris had many interesting stories to tell. Even after Frank passed away, I continued to keep in touch through phone calls. We would be on the phone close to an hour, discussing books, politics, old friends and staff at the nursing home, family and anything else that might come up. She was an awesome lady! It saddens me that I shall no longer be able to pick up the phone and hear her voice, but I am filled with joy in the knowledge that she has been reunited with the love of her life, Frank. Rest in peace, Doris. I shall remember you fondly. My condolences to Amy, Larry, Kenny and Jeffrey and her entire family.
