Doris Jean McCormick, age 86, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 surrounded by her family at home. She was born February 4, 1928 in Newark, DE to the late John and Susan (Backof) Morrison.

She is survived by her children, John H. McCormick and wife Sandra of New Port Richey, FL, Gerry McCormick Sr., and wife Mary of New Port Richey, FL, Kevin McCormick, Sr. of Dover, DE, Tamara L. McCormick of Bear, DE, and Kimberly Tolliver and husband Mike of Middletown, DE, with whom she lived; grandchildren, Gerry McCormick (Amabel), Katie, Keith and Justin McCormick, Cindy Whitman (Scott), Kevin McCormick (Jordan), Cassandra Hamm (Bruce), Deana O’Hara (Peter), Hannah Dolor, Daniel and Sara Zmierski, Abigail and Michael Tolliver, 10 great grandchildren, and a sister Edith Pyle of Ellendale, DE.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. McCormick, Jr., son Keith W. McCormick, and a sister Elizabeth Hall.

A brief chapel service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Delaware Veteran’s Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
