Doris Helen Wilson, 95, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born in Lancaster County, PA, on June 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Millard Fillmore Roland and Mamie Hannah Whisman.
Doris was a gifted seamstress, dedicating many years of service to D&D Manufacturing Co. in Delta, PA, until the company’s closure. She was also a devoted member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. Her family remembers her as a strong-willed, loving woman, fully committed to her family. Doris’s unwavering spirit and warmth will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children: Larry Testerman, Kenneth Wilson, and Debbie Hammons and her husband, Randy; three siblings: Joyce Goad, Carol Smith, and Bill Roland; eight grandchildren: Pam Schaffer, William Testerman, Brian Testerman, Brandan Testerman, Sarah Wilson, Jessica Sparks, and Tommy Hammons, Becky Stafford; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband and eight siblings.
A celebration of Doris’s life will take place at 12:30 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Little Britain Cemetery, Nottingham, PA.
