Doris Ellen Long

Doris Ellen Long, age 77, of Perryville, MD passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Born on July 21, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, Doris was the daughter of the late Edger and Eleanor Hanson. Doris worked as a secretary at Day Spring Pediatrics in Rising Sun, MD for many years. She enjoyed living by the water with her son and his family, and feeding her ducks (Fred&Ethel) Her favorite things to do were going to the Wellwood and playing board games with her friends. In her spare time, she would do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Doris most cherished times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and her pets, Charity and Daisy Mae.

Doris is survived by her children, Michelle Armstrong and her husband, Keith, Jerry Mason and his wife Patti, Lloyd Mason and his wife, Renee, Jodi Gable and her husband, Dan; thirteen grandchildren: Derek Armstrong, Tori Constantine, Gregory Armstrong, Zachery, Joshua, and Samantha Mason, Elizabeth Anderson, Victoria and Rebecca Mason, Brittany Webb, Lauren Miller, Jenna and Matthew Gable; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Benner; niece, Debbie Fields and her husband, Craig and nephew, Mark Benner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Long.

Services will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “COPD Foundation” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.
