Doris Elizabeth Reynolds, age 94, died peacefully on December 30, 2025. Doris was born in Stricklersville, PA and was the daughter of the late Edwin T. Pierson and Alma Lee Pierson. Doris moved to Newark, DE in 1952, where she resided until her passing. Doris attended H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School in Wilmington, DE. She married her late husband James in 1957 and was a faithful wife and mother. In addition, Doris worked for Barrow’s Beauty Shop and Leroy’s Clothing Store before retiring from Fashion Bug after 22 years of service. Doris was a faithful member of Pleasantville Baptist Church of New Castle, DE for more than 50 years.  She was one of the oldest members of the Church at her passing. Over the years she served as a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the Choir.

Doris was preceded in death by her late husband James D. Reynolds; son Kevin Reynolds; daughter-in-law, Cathy A. Reynolds; sister, Jean Pratt; brother, Homer R. Pierson.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Taylor and brother-in-law, Larry Pratt.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, Delaware. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Head of Christiana Cemetery.
