Doris “Grammie D” Cobb Smith died peacefully at home on November 17, 2016 in Rising Sun, MD at the age of 77. Born on June 6, 1939 in Natick, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Beryl Cobb.
Doris graduated in 1958 from King Philip Regional High School. She then went to work at AT&T Telephone Company before continuing on as a Tupperware dealer for 44 years, and then working at Stetson University. Doris was skilled in knitting and often made Christmas stockings. She was a passionate individual who loved her New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She was consumed in her love for Jesus Christ. Doris was an active and dedicated member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene and often volunteered at Rising Sun Elementary School.
Doris is survived by her two sons: Raymond Watters of Rising Sun, MD and Kenneth Watters and his wife, Casey, of Rising Sun, MD; brother, Donald Cobb and his wife, Eleanor, of Plainville, MA; sister, Barbara Cobb Briggs and her husband, Carlton, of Mansfield, MA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; best friend, Lucille Jadwin of Wilmington, DE; many cousins, nieces, nephews and a great deal of church family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Wayne “Butchie” Watters Jr. and her brother, George “Jack” Cobb.

Services honoring Doris’s life will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11am at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, 2626 Jacob Tome Memorial Highway, Colora, MD, 21917, with a visitation beginning at 10am. Pastor Dana Howard will officiate the ceremony; all are welcomed to attend to celebrate Grammie D’s life. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Church of the Nazarene – Caravan Program” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
